Confluence of the Elbe and Vltava Rivers

Mělník 27601
The confluence of the Elbe and the Vltava Rivers is an outstanding dominant feature of the city of Mělník. The best view of it is from the terraces near the Mělník Chateau.
At this place, not only the Vltava joins the Elbe but the Vltava navigation canal as well. As their confluence is better visible than the confluence of the Elbe and the Vltava, the visitors are often confused. However, if you look from above, you can see that the Elbe first meets the Vltava and then there is the canal, which is the narrowest.
